A Recovered Life is all about living an authentic, fulfilling life. It's about rising to meet challenges and overcoming obstacles. It's about hope. It's about courage. It's about recovery. ♥

I'm an eating disorder activist who believes in FULL recovery. Why? Because it's real, and I'm proof.

After too many years of anorexia and depression, I turned my life around and am now living a life I wasn't sure was possible. I want to help you do this too.

Yes, the mental part of the process is important too but you cannot take the steps you need to take to ensure a sustainable recovery without eating again. It is about all-round support and action is just as important as intention.
The point of recovery is not to get fat, to put on weight, to eat endlessly, to be uncomfortable with the amount you’re eating. The point of recovery is to get to the point where food does not make you feel fat, where you know you will not gain weight on a daily basis, where you are comfortable with a healthy number of calories, where you can eat enough to sustain your body without feeling guilty.
And you simply cannot make this journey whilst your brain is starving.

"We all have to eat. It is a basic requirement of being alive. Unfortunately, there are few daily activities that are so loaded with pain and distress, with guilt and shame, with unfulfilled longing and despair than the simple act of putting energy into our bodies. When we learn to eat mindfully, our eating can be transformed from a source of suffering to a source of renewal, self-understanding, and delight."
